OC uses text messaging to contact students. We're using texting for things like enrollment and registration reminders, financial aid notification, advising appointments and more.

All applicants and registered students are automatically enrolled and anyone can easily unsubscribe by sending STOP or CANCEL at any time. 

By providing the college with your cell phone number, you agree to receive text-based communication on your mobile phone. Your information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with institutions other than those which you have indicated interest. Standard text-messaging rates apply and you are responsible for any costs incurred in receiving texts. 

OC also uses text messaging for emergency notification via a separate system.

CAMPUS ALERTS

Communications oversees the college's Email Use Policy. This policy restricts the ability to email all students and employees and provides alternative communications methods and training. 

Email Use Policy

All students, faculty and staff are advised that Olympic College Communications takes photographs and shoots videos for promotional purposes. When filming in private areas such as classrooms, libraries and labs, the College will obtain a signed media release form from all film subjects.

When filming in public areas of the college or at any Olympic College sponsored event, where subjects do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy, the college will obtain signed and/or verbal permission from film subjects. It is likely that other individuals may appear in the background of images filmed in public spaces.

If students do not wish to be filmed, they can notify the Communications Department. It is also expected that such individuals will excuse themselves from photo/video sessions and inform the photographer that they do not wish to be included.

Bulletin boards located in most OC facilities are intended for use by OC and its partners. Community Access Boards are available at each campus for use by non-college groups. These postings must be stamped as received by the Olympic College Communications Department. Posters can be provided electronically or delivered to Bldg. 5, Rm. 300, Mon - Fri, 9am - 4pm
