Veteran Crisis Line

If you’re a Veteran in crisis or concerned about one, there are caring, qualified VA responders standing by to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1

The Veterans Crisis Line is a free, anonymous, confidential resource that’s available to anyone, even if you’re not registered with VA or enrolled in VA health care.

What to Expect

A trained responder will answer your call. The responder will ask you a few questions, such as whether you or the Veteran or Service member you’re concerned about may be in immediate danger or at risk for suicide. You will decide what to share about yourself and what you want to talk about.

Veterans Crisis Line Chat

PAVE is a peer support program that connects incoming student veterans with student veterans already on campus in order to help them navigate college life, identify challenges they face, refer them to appropriate resources on or off-campus, and provide ongoing support. Through peer support from other student veterans on campus, PAVE builds on the camaraderie veterans' experience in the military to create a sense of community and connectedness that contributes to academic and personal success.

The program was developed at the University of Michigan through a grant from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation. It was initially launched at 12 schools and is now on 37 campuses across the United States. Olympic College is part of this group.

PAVE is a collaboration between the University of Michigan, Student Veterans of America, and partner PAVE campuses.

Olympic College’s Peer Advisors for Veteran Education chapter is recruiting new faces to help us with our growing student veteran population.

As a Peer Advisor, you will assist inbound military-connected population who are attending OC for the first time by providing outreach and support to help them with their college endeavors. To participate, you must complete at least one quarter.

Message from SVA OC Student Leadership

We are a club for all students associated with the military, directly, family association, or just an appreciation for the military. Our club was started at Olympic College during the 2017 school year. Since then we have been helping our community, our veterans, and our OC peers. We aim to support them throughout the school year by holding events on campus, visiting the local veteran's home, and attending community enrichment and engagement events.

Your SVA leadership wants to thank you for your interest, helping us help others and yourself as we help you with your future aspirations.

The SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society is the first national academic honor society established for student veterans, and active military, in 2-year and 4-year institutions of higher education. Another unique element of our honor society includes a 4-tier system, which is designed to encourage undergraduate student veterans to strive to improve their GPAs and advance to higher tier levels (and scholarship brackets) in the honor society during their academic careers.

SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society

SALUTE was formed in 2009 by the Colorado State University Veterans Office thanks to a grant by the American Council of Education and Wal-Mart Foundation.

Each chapter symbolizes not only the collective achievement of veterans bettering themselves through the pursuit of knowledge, but also our commitment as a group to honor those among us that are the tip of the spear across the nation.

Currently, there are 326 SALUTE active chapters and more than 17,000 student veterans inducted.

Membership requirements

Military Active Duty or Honorably Discharged Veterans who attend college at a 2-year or 4-year institution, with a 3.0+ GPA may qualify to apply for SALUTE. Check out the full list of requirements and benefits.

As a veteran, you may also qualify for state tuition waiver, if you are paying out of pocket or utilizing Financial Aid. If eligible, these state waiver could waiver up to 50% resident tuition.
