Drop-In Tutoring Guidelines

Tutoring for most subjects is on a drop-in basis. In drop-in labs, no appointments are necessary and you can spend as much time as you need in these spaces. Here are the guidelines for drop-in tutoring spaces:

  • Each student using the drop-in centers is required to sign in (either electronically or on paper) to document center usage. This documentation is necessary to obtain funding to keep the centers operational!
  • Drop-in centers can get busy, and tutors may need to limit time with one student in order to help others. Please be patient.
  • Students are encouraged to work with classmates and study groups while in the center
  • Make sure the tutor is aware of your need for help. Often, just raising your hand is sufficient!
  • Tutors can help you understand concepts and examples presented in the text. They are not permitted to complete homework problems for students or assist with tests. If your instructor has stated that you can have help on a test, please have them contact Tutoring Services to let us know! Tutors will not be able to help unless we’ve received word directly from the instructor.
