Student Online Support is provided by the Center for Learning Innovation. We provide assistance and guidance to students, and the faculty and staff that support your endeavors. Our office can help you learn to use Canvas, the college's primary online learning system. You are encouraged to enroll in General-Studies 97 (GEN-S 097) , a free course that will teach you everything you need to know to be successful using Canvas.

Orientation to Canvas is open for enrollment all quarter. Self-Enroll in this free, online, non-credit class and you will learn how to:

  • Log in to Canvas,
  • Find classes on your Canvas dashboard,
  • Adjust Canvas settings and notifications,
  • Navigate course elements like modules and quizzes,
  • Submit assignments,
  • Contact instructors using Canvas Inbox,
  • Join Zoom sessions,
  • And more!

We encourage students to take this excellent introduction or refresher to Canvas. It only takes a few hours! Students who complete Orientation to Canvas receive a badge to share with others. This class is also offered in-person and web enhanced on all three campuses. Check the dates and times for GEN-S97.

We also offer a 2-credit, DIGL 101 - Intro to Online Learning class which you can enroll in via ctcLink.
