English as a Second Language (ESL)

1. New students must attend an ESOL Orientation session before enrolling in classes. 
2. International students with F-1, M-1, or J-1 visas may not participate in ESOL classes. 
3. Students on tourist or business (B-1, B-2) visas who take ABE/ESOL or other “short” classes may not be allowed to re-enter the US.
4. Tuition is $25 per quarter. These fees are waived for students who qualify based on financial need.

5. Students enrolled in ESOL classes must be living in Washington state. Students must take an in-person test once per quarter.

Transitional Studies

ESL (English as a Second Language) is designed to help non-native English speaking adults improve their English skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

ESL classes are available at the Bremerton, Poulsbo, and Shelton Campuses. 

Yes, most ESL classes are offered in-person and online. Class options may vary by campus and English level.

Times vary by location and English level, but typically classes are available mornings, afternoons, and evenings. 

International students holding the following visas are not eligible for this program and should contact our International Education Program.
