Before the start of classes

Before the start of the academic term, you can add, drop or completely withdraw from your classes using the ctcLink Student Homepage. 

After classes have started

Dropping classes and withdrawing once the term begins can affect your tuition refund and grades.

Completing required prerequisites ensures you have achieved the necessary learning outcomes to proceed to the next course. Course prerequisite requirements are found using the ctcLink Student Homepage or by visiting the Olympic College Catalog. For more info, visit our Prerequisites webpage. 

Meeting Prerequisites

If the class you want is full and you meet prerequisites, you can join the class waitlist using the ctcLink Student Homepage. For instructions and more information, visit our Waitlist webpage.

If a class is full, your may:

1. Attend the class on the first day of the class.  
2. If your instructor agrees, have them sign an over-enrollment form. 
3. Or, if the class is online, email the instructor for permission and forward to @email stating you have permission to over-enroll into the specific class.

Over-enrollments will be honored through the first 10 days of the term.

Every term there is a short period of time after the last day to register that allows students to register with instructor permission.

• Check the academic calendar to determine the last day to register with instructor permission.
• Contact the instructor for permission.
• If the instructor agrees, have him/her email registration@olympic.edu with permission.   

Students may miss deadlines or experience circumstances which may warrant filing a Registrar/Cashier Petition to ask for an exception. Visit the Petitioning for Exceptions webpage for instructions and more information. Registration & Records staff can help you decide whether a petition is appropriate in your situation.
