Inexhaustible Collections Policy

Policy Number: 600-10

I. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to comply with the requirement of the Office of Financial Management that each College will maintain a policy regarding inexhaustible collections.

II. Policy

It is the policy of Olympic College that valuable art and museum pieces and all other “inexhaustible collections” are to be held for public exhibition, education, or research in furtherance of public service, rather than financial gain.

All such items will be protected, kept unencumbered, cared for, and preserved.

Any proceeds of sales of such items will be used to acquire other items for the College collection.
