Career assessments are tools that help students gain understanding and learn more about their interests, personality, skills/abilities, and values. Use self-assessments during career counseling appointments to get help with any concerns or confusion.
Assessments offer an opportunity to identify occupations that are possible strong career options, but they cannot make better decisions for you than you can through counseling and research.
Keep in mind that no single assessment can tell you "what you should be” and neither will a counselor. Successful career exploration and planning may require multiple assessment tools, and conversations about the uncertainties of living in the 21th century. More than one appointment with a Counselor is highly recommended.
