The ceremonies will take place on the Campus Green, rain or shine! Please allow yourself ample time for travel, parking, and to check-in no later than 30 minutes prior to the ceremony time. 

Each ceremony should last approximately 75 minutes. Diploma covers and a note of congratulation are distributed to Associate, Bachelors, and High School Diploma graduates during the ceremony. All degrees earned in the 2024 - 2025 academic year and associated Graduation Honors are noted in the Commencement program, but are not read aloud.

Check-In:

• Opens 60 minutes before the ceremony starts.
• Main entrance of Building 10-Bremer Student Center, located across from the Campus Green.

Name Cards:

• Name cards will be distributed to all graduates at check-in. It will have instructions for next steps for procession to the Campus Green and crossing the stage during the ceremony.
• If graduates have a preferred name or pronunciation, they can update their name card with this information.

Line-Up:

• A staff member will be stationed at the degree assembly area to organize the procession in double-file order: Marshals, Platform Party, Roll Readers, Graduates, and OC Faculty and Staff.
• To sit with a friend, line up in front or behind them in the procession, not across from them in the other line.

Notes:

• Graduates who are late for the procession must report to Check-In for further instructions.
• Personal belongings (e.g., purses, backpacks, phones) will not be provided with storage. Please leave them in a vehicle or with a guest. 

Olympic College Commencement Regalia including cap and gown packages, souvenir tassels, diploma frames, etc., may be purchased at the OC Bookstore at the Bremerton Campus in Bldg. 10. Online purchases will be available through May 19, 2024. The bookstore will also be open the day of the event. 

A limited number of caps and gowns donated by prior graduates will be available to borrow for the ceremonies via the Resource Center. For further information on regalia availability to borrow, please contact the Resource Center Office at @email or 360-475-6817.

Associate Degrees

Associate graduates wear a red cap and gown with a red/white tassel. Honor cords are silver for Deans' Honors (3.50-3.89 GPA) and gold for President's Honors (3.9 to 4.00 GPA). Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members may wear a gold PTK stole and/or a gold PTK tassel.

Bachelor Degrees

Bachelor graduates wear a black cap and gown with a designated degree color tassels.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates wear an apricot color tassel. Gold honor cords designate BSN honors.

Bachelor of  Applied Science in Organizational Leadership & Technical Management graduates wear an drab color tassel.

Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Systems

Bachelor of  Applied Science in Information Systems graduates wear an white color tassel.

Bachelor of Applied Science in Filmmaking

Bachelor of  Applied Science in Filmmaking graduates wear an lilac color tassel.

Due to limited seating, it is requested that graduates limit themselves to four guests each. Guests will not be seated during the processional or presentation of colors at the beginning of each ceremony.

Parking is free, and graduates and guests are welcome to park in Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, & 7, and guests and graduates with disabilities/handicaps are welcome to park in Lot 12 off of Ohio Avenue across the street from Bremerton High School, on a first come, first served basis, as this is the closest lot to the Campus Green. 

Please do not park in Faculty/Staff Lots 1, 8, 10, 11, & 13 as these are reserved for the event staff. OC Security personnel will assist with directing traffic in the parking lots.

Olympic Photo Group (OPG) will be our photographer for the 2025 Commencement Ceremonies. They will be available for professional photographs before and after the ceremonies as well as taking candid shots as graduates cross the stage during the ceremony. OPG will be located in Building 10 to take graduate photos before and after each ceremonies.

Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and Winter 2025 graduates have already received their diplomas via mail, and Spring 2025 graduates will receive their diplomas via mail by early August 2025. Replacement or additional diploma copies may be ordered via our printing partner, Parchment.
