Opioid Overdose Response Plan

Overview

Overview

Olympic College seeks to create a thriving community by prioritizing health and safety of all campus members, including by planning for potential emergencies. Drug overdose is a preventable cause of death and we want to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to save lives on our campuses using naloxone, a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.

OC has installed opioid overdose response boxes around campus. The boxes contain Narcan, a brand of naloxone nasal spray, as well as gloves, alcohol wipes, pulse oximeters, and face shields for rescue breaths. Narcan is a safe, easy to use medication that works quickly to revive someone experiencing an opioid overdose.
