Overview

Turn your professional work experience into a teaching career

Welcome to our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Preparation program page!

This program is designed for two types of professionals:

  • Industry Experts: If you have hands-on experience in fields such as healthcare, engineering, or IT and want to inspire students while pursuing the credentials to teach, this path helps you transition into education.

  • Licensed Educators: If you're already certified but want to expand your impact by teaching technical subjects, this path offers the specialized preparation needed to integrate CTE into your teaching practice.

With flexible evening, weekend, and online coursework, this program helps you gain the skills needed to pursue CTE certification and thrive in technical education—whether you're coming from the workforce or the classroom.

We are proud to be one of only four Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB)-approved programs in Washington state for the Business & Industry (B&I) Route to CTE certification.
