Chemistry
Applying the laws of matter to solve problems and meet needs

Chemistry is the science that studies matter and laws governing the formation of matter from the basic elements. Chemists work on such diverse problems as the development of new plastics, drug preparation, pollution control, medical research, nuclear chemistry and analysis of geological materials. Additionally, degrees for nursing and healthcare careers, engineering, pharmacy, veterinary, biochemistry and environmental sciences require varying levels of knowledge of chemistry.
