Drop-in Advising is not intended for creating full education plans or addressing in-depth academic or personal concerns. If your needs go beyond what drop-in advising can offer, our Success Coaches will assist you as much as possible and guide you to schedule an appointment with your designated coach, as well as connect you to other resources as needed.

About Drop-In Advising

Drop-in Advising sessions are designed to help with quick or urgent questions. Please note the following:
  • Students are seen on a first come, first served basis
  • Sessions are short (15 minutes)
  • During high-demand periods, wait times may be longer than usual and not all students may be seen
  • If your questions require additional time, you may be asked to reschedule for a full advising appointment

How to Prepare for Your 15 Minute Drop-in Session

Drop-In Advising sessions are designed to answer your most important questions. Since each session is just 15 minutes, please come prepared:

1. Review Your Program Information in Advance

  • Look at your degree requirements and the class schedule.
  • If you wish to enroll in classes, bring a list of class options with you.

2. Have Your Questions Ready

  • Determine the top 1-2 issues you need to address.
  • Write down specific questions you’d like answered during your appointment.

3. Bring Relevant Information

  • If applicable, bring any transcripts, placement scores, or other documents that you need the Success Coach to review.

4. Be Ready to Take Notes

  • Bring a pen and paper or open a document on your device to capture key information and next steps.

5. Plan for a Follow-Up if Needed

  • If your questions require more time, your advisor will help you schedule a longer appointment for a deeper conversation.
