Medical Assistants are multi-skilled practitioners who perform a wide range of roles in health care settings.
Medical Assistants perform a wide range of administrative and clinical roles in physicians’ offices and other health care settings. Olympic College offers programs leading to careers as Medical Assistants, Medical Billing and Coding Specialists and Medical Receptionists.

Olympic College offers a variety of Medical Assisting classes that prepare students for a range of careers related to Medical Assisting, Medical Billing & Coding, and Medical Receptionist. Consider taking specific classes as distribution requirements and electives that lead to your Associate in Applied Science-Transfer (AAS-T): Medical Assisting, Certificate of Specialization (CS): Medical Assisting, Certificate of Specialization (CS): Medical Billing & Coding, Certificate of Completion (CC): Medical Receptionist, Certificate of Completion (CC): Phlebotomy, or Certificate of Recognition (CR): Phlebotomy for Healthcare Professionals.
To begin any of the Medical Assisting programs on a full-time basis, students will need:
Placement assessment scores for Math placing students in MATH 099 or higher. Alternatively, successful completion of MATH 094 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
Placement assessment scores for English placing students in ENGL& 101. Alternatively, successful completion of ENGL 099 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.

The Olympic College Medical Assisting Certificate of Specialization is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).
