American Heart Association (AHA) HeartCode® BLS (blended learning) course includes:

  • Approximately 2 hours of self-paced online coursework, completed in advance Includes content review, skills videos, and the written exam completed online.
  • Followed by an approximately 2-2.5 hour in-person skills practice and testing session on the scheduled date and time.
  • Students may retake the online written exam as many times as needed to achieve a passing score prior to attending the skills session.
  • Students must arrive at the skills session with proof of successful completion of the online portion. If proof cannot be provided, the student cannot participate and would need to reschedule.
  • Students must have passed the written exam with a minimum score of 84% (21/25) prior to the start of the 2-2.5 hour in-person skills practice session.
