The two-year curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for immediate employment as physical therapist assistants. Most students who complete the program plan to enter or advance their careers after attaining their associate degree.

For students transferring in or out of the Physical Therapist Assistant program, Olympic College has a direct transfer (articulation) agreement with The Evergreen State College. So if you've completed some Physical Therapist Assistant course work at one college you can seamlessly transfer to the other.

• Graduates of the Olympic College Physical Therapist Assistant program are eligible to take the National Physical Therapy Examination for licensure. Students are encouraged to review requirements at the Washington State Department of Health website.
• The Department of Health offers assistance in applying for the examination, paying the fee and taking the examination. More information on how you can get help is at the Washington State Department of Health website.
• Your license must be renewed annually. Renewal requires a fee payment, proof of the Continuing Education requirements and a minimum of employment hours that must be met. Updated information is located at the Washington State Department of Health website.
• Program graduates are prepared for employment as Physical Therapist Assistants in home health care, hospitals, long-term care, schools and out-patient practices.
• Students are encouraged to research information about this career option by visiting the CAPTE website.
• State law governing physical therapy practice standards may be reviewed at the Washington State Legislature website.
• Required disclosure: The Olympic College Physical Therapist Assistant program has determined that its curriculum meets the state educational requirements for licensure or certification in all states, the District of Colombia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands secondary to its accreditation by the CAPTE, based on the following: CAPTE accreditation of a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant program satisfies state educational requirements in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Thus, students graduating from CAPTE-accredited physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education programs are eligible to take the National Physical Therapy Examination and apply for licensure in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
