Discovery through creative exploration
Fundamental to the development of fine art is the spirit and process of exploration. The Art curriculum encourages the process of discovery as it applies to perceptual and conceptual issues basic to the creative process as well as the human experience. The purpose is to provide a catalyst for students to expand their life skill set through artistic awareness and practice resulting in a more productive, versatile and successful life.
The Visual Arts Program at Olympic College offers courses in Drawing, Sculpture, Design, Painting and Ceramics. Students can work toward an Associate in Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA): Arts degree, preparing them to transfer to a program continuing their education in Visual Arts. Courses include lectures, labs, and workshops with classes offered at the Bremerton and Poulsbo campuses. The program also utilizes online, and independent instruction.
