Introducing the Olympic College 2026 All-WA Academic Team

Each year, the All-Washington Academic Team honors the state’s top community and technical college students for their academic achievement, leadership, and community service. This year, four outstanding Olympic College students earned this prestigious recognition: Brooklyn Bolin, Dorothy Osangiri and Marissa Van Sickle.

These students exemplify the excellence and community spirit found throughout Washington’s higher education system. They will be celebrated during a special ceremony on April 23 at South Puget Sound Community College in Lacey, WA. 

Meet the remarkable Olympic College students being honored this year.

 

Brooklyn Bolin

Brooklyn Bolin

GPA: 4.0
Program: Cisco Certified Network Associate

Brooklyn Bolin is a graduate of Olympic College, where she earned her degree in Information Technology with a focus in computer networking. During her time there, she served as a student tutor, earned industry certifications, and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She’s pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at Western Governors University. She works in IT in healthcare. She enjoys spending time with her husband and animals and watching shows like The Office.


Dorothy Osangiri

Dorothy Osangiri

GPA: 3.94
Program: Nursing Assistant

Dorothy Osangiri is an international student currently completing pre-nursing studies with a 3.9 GPA. Originally from Kenya, she is passionate about healthcare and committed to serving diverse communities. Dorothy has balanced academics with part-time work and volunteer experiences, demonstrating resilience and dedication. She plans to attend Seattle University in the fall to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), where she aims to further develop her clinical skills and compassionate approach to patient care.


Marissa Van Sickle

Marissa Van Sickle

GPA: 3.92
Program: Radiologic Technology AAS

Marissa Van Sickle is a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a first-year student in the Radiologic Technology program at Olympic College. After completing her military service, she returned to college with a renewed commitment to education and service. Being named to the All-Washington Academic Team recognizes her dedication to academic excellence and perseverance. Marissa hopes to specialize in mammography or radiation therapy, providing compassionate care and support to patients during challenging moments in their lives.
