Diving Into New Challenges With Jeffery Timm
Meet The College Tour cast member Jeffery Timm. Jeff is no stranger to adventure. Two weeks after high school, he was in boot camp preparing to serve in the Navy. After his second enlistment, he became a commercial diver working on deep sea projects. Then, he came to OC to embark on college at the age of 33. At OC, he found support and a second home with Military & Veterans Programs (MVP).
OC has the second largest population of military-connected students of any college in Washington, and there’s power in numbers. Students find dedicated staff to help them navigate their military benefits and provide a supportive environment as they find a career path to usher them into their next phase. At the MVP, Jeff found camaraderie just like he experienced in the military. “The resources available, the people I met—they gave me the confidence I needed,” he said.
After Jeff completed his associate degree, he transferred to the Bachelor’s of Business Administration program at Western Washington University. Thanks to OC’s partnership with WWU, he was able to complete the program from OC’s Poulsbo Campus. In addition to WWU, OC also has university partnerships in place with ODUGlobal and Washington State University.
