Anne Edwards is Pursuing a Childhood Dream at OC
Meet Anne Edwards, a nursing student at Olympic College and cast member of the Prime Video television show The College Tour. Anne knew she wanted to be a nurse since childhood, when she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
“I wanted so badly to be the nurse helping the sick kids, and not the sick kid stuck in the hospital bed,” she said.
Anne is training to be a pediatric nurse in OC’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program, where she’s learning from supportive professors in cutting edge facilities. OC offers pathways for Nursing Assistants, Registered Nurses, Veterans earning nursing degrees, and more.
In the LPN program, Anne has practiced her nursing skills at partner clinical sites, with real patients and under the guidance of licensed nurses. This experience will enable her to step into nursing jobs with confidence, she said.
