Overview

Exploring the rich cultural, political and institutional legacy of the past provides the framework for a better understanding of our world. By studying societal changes, evolving norms and conflicts throughout the ages, students of history are better prepared to act proactively for the future.

Students who plan to major in history at a four-year institution should complete their Olympic College associate degree by pursuing a broad range of social science and humanities courses in addition to the required history courses. Good writing skills are essential and should be developed at every opportunity.
