We are looking for wonderful host families who enjoy cultural exchange and can provide safe, clean, and warm accommodation for Olympic College International Students. International Students learn American culture and improve their English skills through everyday interaction with their host families. If you are interested, please follow the steps below to get your application started!

Host Family Application Instructions

  1. Read Host Family Requirements listed below before submitting application. 
  2. Complete and submit your host family application.
  3. Criminal background check screening for all applicants and household members who are 16 and older. Once we initiate your background check, you must complete your portion of the background check. Instructions will be emailed to you. Please check your junk mail folders if you cannot find the email with instructions. 
  4. Schedule a home-visit appointment with all of family members and other residents once everyone is cleared from the criminal background check.
  5. Character reference check.
  6. Once your application is approved, we will match hosts and homestay students according to their preferences and requests.
  7. Enjoy hosting!

Homestay Compensation & Fees

The monthly fee covers room, food (if included), utilities, Wi-Fi internet access, cost of normal family activities and your time. The monthly fee is due to the host on the first day of each month. Homestay fee for the first month and the last month will be prorated.

Please adhere to the college guidelines regarding the monthly homestay rate and security/damage deposit. These fees are fixed and non-negotiable.

Traditional Homestay

$735 per month (a family-like atmosphere)

  • Quarterly commitment.
  • Private bedroom with bed, desk, chair, light, dresser, closet, towels, bedding, and house key provided.
  • All utilities and Wi-Fi-Internet access included.
  • The host provides and prepares five evening meals each week. Students make their own breakfast, lunch and weekend dinners with food provided by the host.
  • Not included: Personal expenses, transportation, bus fare, long distance phone calls.
