Welcome to Transitional Studies!

Earn your high school diploma, study for the GED exams, learn English, or improve your reading and writing skills to prepare for college-level classes. In our office, you’ll find a supportive and encouraging space with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Programs include:

Adult Basic Education
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Earn your high school diploma (High School+) or GED preparation classes

We offer all these programs at an affordable price. Students pay just $25 a quarter for all of their classes (including textbooks). This tuition fee is waived for students based on financial need.

Adult Basic Education

Improve your skills in reading and writing before taking college-level classes. Tuition is only $25 per quarter and tuition waivers are available. Contact us to find out more!

English as a Second Language

Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program is designed to help non-native English speakers improve their English skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

GED Prep & Testing

GED preparation classes are offered and recommended prior to taking the four GED tests through GED.com. The tests consist of social studies, science, math, and language arts. GED preparation classes will help you strengthen your skills in these four subjects before you take your GED tests.

High School+ (Diploma)

High School+ (HS+) is a competency-based high school diploma program for adult learners 18 and older who do not have a high school diploma or equivalency.

Improve Your Workplace Skills

Integrated Basic Education & Skills Training (I-BEST) program speeds up the learning process by providing two teachers for the price of one. One teacher focuses on career training, and the other on academics.

Improve Your Technology Skills

The Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate program is a set of free, self-guided online assessments that show your ability to perform essential computer tasks.
