What is the Banking Beyond Bars program?
Banking Beyond Bars is a 14+ month financial empowerment program designed specifically for individuals who are formerly incarcerated and live, work, or attend school in Kitsap County. The program helps participants build a strong foundation in financial literacy while developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to make informed financial decisions. Through personalized support, educational workshops, coaching, and connections to community resources, participants can learn strategies for budgeting, banking, credit building, debt management, saving, and long-term financial planning. Banking Beyond Bars aims to remove barriers to financial stability and create opportunities for economic mobility, empowering participants to successfully navigate life after incarceration and work toward their personal, educational, and career goals.
