How to prepare for your 15-minute Healthcare Advising Appointment

Our healthcare advising sessions are designed to answer your most important questions. Since each session is just 10 minutes, please come prepared:

1. Review Program Information in Advance

  • Visit the Olympic College Healthcare Programs page to review details on prerequisites, application deadlines, and program requirements.

  • Make note of which programs (e.g., Nursing, Medical Assisting, Surgical Technology, Radiologic Technology) you’re most interested in.

2. Have Your Questions Ready

  • Write down 1–2 specific questions you’d like answered during your appointment.

  • Examples: “Am I on track with prerequisites for the Practical Nursing Program?” or “When should I apply for the Radiologic Technology program?”

3. Bring Relevant Information

  • If you’ve completed any college coursework, have a copy of your unofficial transcript handy (PDF or printout).

  • Know your current GPA and any courses you’re planning to take.

4. Be Ready to Take Notes

  • Keep a pen and paper or open a document on your device to capture key information and next steps.

5. Plan for a Follow-Up if Needed

  • If your questions require more time, your advisor will help you schedule a longer appointment for a deeper conversation, or feel free to set up a separate 30-minute appointment now:
