Phi Theta Kappa is the oldest International Honor Society for two-year colleges and the largest honor society for higher education in the U.S. Our goal is to encourage scholastic achievement and personal growth and development among two-year college students. We do this through a combination of Leadership, Honors and Service activities, while encouraging fellowship among organization members and the community. Phi Theta Kappa opens doors to successful futures for our members.
Our Purpose
We are an organization devoted to being the best we can be. Being a member of Phi Theta Kappa is an honor offered only to students with the finest scholastic achievement record. Phi Theta Kappa is an organization you can be proud of, not just for the prestige in qualifying for membership, but because of the personal enrichment you will experience. You'll develop new skills while helping to give back to the college campus and community.
About the Beta Gamma Eta Chapter
The Beta Gamma Eta chapter at Olympic College works hard to support Phi Theta Kappa, Olympic College and the surrounding communities. We're active in fundraising and charity drives, encouraging fellowship among college students and taking leadership roles on and off campus. Above all, we're committed to having fun.
The Beta Gamma Eta chapter is a 5-Star Chapter (the highest level possible). We maintain our status by continually encouraging membership, participating in regional and international programs, partnering with the college for a year-long Comprehensive Service Project, participating in philanthropic activities and achieving all expectations set for our chapter.
Our chapter has seven officers, including a President, a Treasurer, a VP of Service, an Alumni Assistant Advisor, a VP of Public Relations, and a VP of IT and Design. Each of the chapter VPs focus on one of the four hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa: Leadership, Service, Scholarship and Fellowship. We also have a Chapter Advisor who helps facilitate our activities.
