Long before Galileo raised his telescope, ancient astronomers looked skyward to guide travel, track seasons, and shape the mythologies that still influence us today. In this class, you’ll explore how early star‑watchers helped societies shift from nomadic movement to settled life and how their observations laid the groundwork for modern science. Along the way, you’ll build your own functioning sextant and learn the basics of celestial navigation. Come discover how humanity’s earliest scientists mapped the heavens and changed the world.
