This course offers a hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of forging and bladesmithing. Students will learn essential techniques including proper hammering methods, blade heat treatment concepts, and filing practices. Whether you're brand new to the forge or have some experience, this class provides valuable instruction for all skill levels.
The course emphasizes blacksmithing safety and technique, guiding students through the use of forging equipment. You'll learn how to draw out, taper, and upset metal as you shape your projects. While the principles of blacksmithing are straightforward, mastering the craft takes dedication and practice. Spend a day at the forge and take home a ram's head fire poker!
