BAS in Filmmaking Application Checklist

application is now open

Applicants are encouraged to apply early, and no later than April 3, for the best chance of admission. Applicants who apply after April 3 may be placed on a waitlist if the program is full. Review of materials will begin April 6.

To be admitted, students must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average (GPA). Those above 2.0 GPA have a better chance of admission to the program. Applicants below 2.0 GPA remain eligible to apply and will be considered on the basis of a strong portfolio. In addition, all applicants with fewer than 25 filmmaking credits are required to submit a portfolio for review.

Once your application has been processed, you will be contacted for an interview. During the interview, you will be asked to provide commentary on your films and other work, and we may ask you to describe how you arrived at certain creative decisions. If you submitted a portfolio, the interviewers will ask questions related to that work.

An advising appointment with a faculty advisor is strongly recommended before submitting an application. An interview with the filmmaking faculty is required before an acceptance letter can be offered.
