ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND PERSISTENCE

ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND PERSISTENCE
The definition of academic success varies by individual. However, if you are struggling with academic success or simply looking for a few resources to increase your chances of success, you are in the right place!
According to one Engagement theory students that are involved and enmeshed intellectually, socially, and behaviorally lead to enhanced learning (Kearsley & Shneiderman, 1998). The college has a mission to provide quality education and supports but only you are accountable for your choices. Remember, when life happens, do not hesitate to schedule an appointment with a counselor.

As an OC Ranger, you have access to a variety resources but you have to accept responsibility for your decision to use them. When life happens and you hit a bump, be willing to ask questions starting with your professors and folks like those below.
- Student Success Coaches are trained professionals who provide advisement for students seeking help with understanding degrees/pathways, selecting courses, identifying campus resources and navigating the Olympic College community. Students in Running Start should connect with that office and their high school counselor.
- Faculty Program Advisors are full-time instructors who volunteer to advise students in specific areas of study and students are encouraged to speak any instructor about the courses they teach.
- Counseling Faculty are the full-time counselors who provide personal counseling, career counseling and academic advising as needed.
