Financial Aid is eager to assist you with access to the various types of financial aid available to meet your educational goals at OC.
Steps to Apply for Financial Aid:
STEP 1: Complete OC Admissions Application (new students only)
STEP 2: Complete FAFSA (OC school code 003784)

In addition to these steps, some financial aid applicants would need to turn in additional documents as may be requested by our office. For example, all students who received untaxed military benefits or other untaxed income during past year are required to turn in an Leave and Earning Statement (LES) or complete the (2012-13)Untaxed Military Benefit Form or (2013-14) Untaxed Military Benefit Form . Students are also required to review their Student Aid Report (SAR) which is the same as their FAFSA results. What is the current processing timeframe for financial aid applications?
Currently, it takes 3 to 6 weeks to process your application. The length of time depends on our application volume at the time you apply. Applications that are selected for verification require additional steps and therefore additional time to process. Check the financial aid portal frequently and follow up promptly with any additional information our office requires from you. A file is considered complete and ready to review (for awarding) when all required documents are received.
IMPORTANT - Financial aid is awarded based on full-time enrollment:
If your financial aid has been awarded and you register for LESS THAN 12 CREDITS (less than full-time) you must complete a Change of Enrollment and submit it to our office. Otherwise your financial aid will not be released. Go to the current year Forms page to download the Change of Enrollment form.
NOTE!!! If you are currently FOLLOWING AN APPROVED EDUCATION PLAN as part of an extension of aid beyond program limits then you MUST register for ONLY those courses included within your education plan, even if this means you are not enrolled full-time. If you register for classes that are NOT on your education plan your financial aid award will be reduced, and/or may be rescinded.
Students who hope to meet the priority date for 2013-14, have your FAFSA application processed by APRIL 15, 2013:
APRIL 15, 2013 is the financial aid priority date for the 2013-14 academic year. All files completed by the priority date will be given maximum consideration for 2013-2014 financial aid. You may still apply for financial aid AFTER the priority date. We just can't guarantee that you will be awarded before you register and/or before the summer quarter begins.

The Financial Aid Office will be closed for processing during the following time periods:
JUN 20 TO JUN 28
AUG 19 TO AUG 23
AUG 28 TO AUG 30 (tentative)

provided at the Welcome Kiosk in the HSS building.
