Overview
Overview
The Corpsman/Medic to Practical Nursing (CM-PN) program is designed for Airforce Medics (4NOX1, skill level 5) and Navy Corpsmen (HM000, Rank: HM3, E-4 and above), allowing them to obtain their Certificate of Specialization (CS). The program prepares graduates to provide safe, direct patient care as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in a variety of settings, including acute care, long-term care, home health, and ambulatory care. The program includes classroom study, laboratory application, high-fidelity simulation, and supervised clinical experiences (client care).
Graduates of the CM-PN pathway will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam required to obtain a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential in Washington state. Additionally, this academic preparation and credential will prepare graduates for admission to nursing pathways that lead to a Registered Nurse license, i.e., LPN-to-RN, VL-BSN, or LPN-to-BSN.

This change aligns with the minimum passing standard for other NURSE courses. Factor points for this course are allocated according to the revised factoring system, detailed in the application instructions for each pathway.
