What is an Upside Down Bachelor's Degree?

Most four-year degrees start with a broad focus, progressing to more specialized course work as students get closer to graduation.

With an Upside Down bachelor's degree, students complete focused, skills-based course work in their first two years of college, taking their liberal arts classes in the final two years.

The Evergreen State College offers an Upside Down Bachelor's Degree option for qualifying graduates of regionally accredited Washington Community or Technical colleges, including Olympic College. Students who qualify take a minimum of 32 credits at Evergreen in an interdisciplinary program unrelated to their technical degree.
