Residence Life

Welcome to Office of Residence Life

Olympic College's source for on-campus student housing

On behalf of the entire Student Life, Residence Life, International, and Admissions teams, welcome to Olympic College and to our Residence Life community. We are excited to have you with us.  Your Residence Life experience is an integral part of the Olympic College Experience. Our goals are to provide you with comfortable, safe housing, and to support you in your academic pursuits by emphasizing diverse perspectives and multicultural communities that are conducive to academic achievement and success. Our mission is to provide residents with high quality facilities, events, and services that promote academic achievement, personal growth, civic engagement, environmental consciousness, and social justice advocacy.

OC ResLife strives to offer opportunities for students to get involved in the creation of community on campus and to have fun in the process. Research has demonstrated that student involvement in campus activities has many benefits including: new relationships, better time management, improved academic performance, and experiential learning.

Involvement in your living area and the campus community will be a major factor in the level of your academic and personal success. Residence Life Staff members are here to assist you, but ultimately you must decide to engage yourself in creating opportunities, solving community problems, and seeking assistance when needed. We hope that you will become involved in the residence hall and campus community. Get involved, have fun and enjoy this wonderful opportunity!

Mission: Olympic College’s Office of Residence Life strives to provide quality housing, a safe environment, and access to leadership and growth opportunities. Residence Life offers a multinational living experience committed to supporting the academic pursuits of our residents and the campus community through socially just and environmentally sustainable practices.

Vision: We believe that global citizenship is an appropriate lens through which to perceive the world.  We believe that the best way to serve our campus and community is to incorporate many and diverse perspectives on community, citizenship, and civility.

History: Opening our doors in September of 2013, we welcomed 13 new students to Residence Life.  From there we have been steadily growing the ResLife program.  In September of 2014 we welcomed 55 residents.  We now have an active Residence Hall Association and are eager to add Living Learning communities to the experiences we offer.

Sustainability: Olympic College's Office of Residence Life is always looking for new and better ways to improve our environmental sustainability practices.

Community Respect: One of our core beliefs is that each resident deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Each resident shares the responsibility of creating an environment in which all residents are respected and valued – regardless of one’s age, weight, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, color, creed, national origin, cultural background, socio-economic status, or religious affiliation or conviction.  We expect each resident and their guests to take the time and energy necessary to get to know people from different groups and cultures as individuals; challenge your biases; think about the impact of your words or actions before you speak or act; refuse to participate with jokes or pranks that are derogatory to any person or group; confront others who are speaking or acting inappropriately; and report incidents of mistreatment or harassment to Residence Life or College staff as soon as possible. Bigotry, bias, prejudice and oppression have no place within our community. Join us in embracing our differences and appreciating the perspectives each resident brings to Olympic College.
