A native Bremertonian, Ryan Parker begins his 14th season as the Head Baseball Coach in 2020. He also serves as the Student-Athlete Success Coach at the college.
Parker played varsity baseball at Bremerton High School under coach Mike McKnight and was a right-handed pitcher earning all-state honors his senior year in 1999.
Parker’s college playing experience consisted of two stops. First for the Olympic College Ranger, from 1998 to 2000, then as a York College Panther (York, Neb.), from 2000 to 2002. During the summer months he played in the Pacific International League with the Seattle Cruisers, where he won the Unsung Hero Award in 1998.
He started coaching in 2000 as the head coach of the Bremerton Senior Legion; he coached the Legion team in the summer of 2001 too. He stepped over to the Seattle Rainiers Baseball Club for the 2003, 2004 and 2005 seasons. He also coached the Cobb baseball team in 2002. In all he led four teams to post-season tournaments: Cobb – AAU National Tournament, Seattle Rainiers –CABA World Series (2003), USABF World Series (2004), AAU National Tournament (2005).
Prior to returning to Olympic College, Parker served as the York College pitching coach for the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He was also an assistant coach at West Seattle High School in 2005. Parker earned his Bachelor's Degree in General Studies from York College in 2003.
Parker was the Head Coach of the Kitsap BlueJackets from 2012-2014, after serving as the assistant from 2008-2011. The BlueJackets are members of the Pacific International League.
Ryan and his wife Kim currently reside in Bremerton, Wash. with their children Ashton, Blake, and Taylor
