Michelle Miller takes the reigns of the Ranger Volleyball program for the 2019 season. She has been coaching volleyball for over 12 years and has been the Club Director at Olympic Premier Volleyball Club (OPVBC) for three years. She grew up on Bainbridge Island and led Bainbridge High School, who competed in the 3A Metro League, to its first state berth in school history her sophomore year. She was named Co-Player of the Year by the Kitsap Sun her junior year after taking Bainbridge HS to state for the second year in a row. She was named second-team All-State her senior year when she helped Bainbridge to finish 3rd at the 3A state tournament. Michelle played club volleyball for the Washington Volleyball Academy during her high school years and continued on to play collegiately at the University of New Mexico before she was sidelined with multiple knee surgeries.
Her first head coaching position was at 19, when she led a high level 13-1 New Mexico Juniors squad. . She graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Education with a focus on middle and high school ages. After moving back to Kitsap, she joined OPVBC, where she has served as a coach at every age group U12-U18. She has also coached the JV and Varsity high school teams at Bainbridge and Central Kitsap.
She is USAV CAP 1 Certified and is a licensed Health/PE teacher in Washington State. She currently works as a transaction coordinator for a local real estate team.
