The BAS IS program is designed to ensure a smooth pathway for students who hold an IT-related technical associate degree. Students with such a degree will typically be able to complete the BAS IS program in two years with little or no additional preparation.

As an open door institution, OC seeks to accommodate as many qualified students as possible. The entry requirements of the BAS IS Program establish minimum qualifications to provide maximum degree access and support student success at the baccalaureate level.

Students entering OC’s BAS IS program will be expected to already have a strong IT foundation. The required program prerequisite courses (or equivalents) provide foundational knowledge that upper division BAS IS courses will build upon. Applicants with a technical associate degree will be prepared for upper division courses if they have completed prerequisite coursework or can demonstrate proficiency in comparable technical skills prior to entering the program.

We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2014 cohort.
Required Prerequisite Courses
BAS IS program prerequisites are listed with OC course numbers and titles. Courses from other colleges will be evaluated to determine equivalencies. You may be able to get credit for prior learning if you can demonstrate required skills. Students may also be able to complete some prerequisite coursework during summer quarter 2014.
