ESL / English to Speakers of Other Languages
SUMMER QUARTER DATES:
Summer quarter starts Monday, July 1st.
Olympic College offers beginning through advanced courses in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL or ESL). These non-credit courses are intended for non-native English speakers, and refugees wanting to learn how to read, write, speak and understand English for both personal and employment reasons.
Per the SBCTC, no international students (F-1 or M-1 visa-holders, or “nannies”/au pairs here on J-1 visas) may be in any ABE/ESOL class, even if they or their sponsors offer to pay their full, unsubsidized share of the ABE/ESOL class cost. Instead, these students should contact the International Student Program about Intensive English classes.
Students on tourist or business (B-1, B-2) visas who take ABE/ESOL or other “short” classes may not be allowed to re-enter the United States.
NEW STUDENTS MUST ATTEND AN ORIENTATION SESSION BEFORE REGISTERING FOR CLASSES. Seating is limited. Call 360.475.7278 to set up your appointment now.
ESOL classes are offered at: Olympic College Bremerton, Olympic College Shelton, and Olympic College Poulsbo.
Offsite locations include Boys & Girls Club in Belfair.
