Purpose of Center for Homemakers in Transition:
To assist those who have lost their source of financial support to become economically self sufficient. The program provides the tools necessary to identify career or school options and to gain the self-confidence necessary to make the transition to independence.
Who is Eligible for the Keys to College and Career Program for Homemakers in Transition?
People who have worked primarily as homemakers and have depended upon family members or federal assistance for support but have now lost that financial resource.

Our program is designed to assist those who have lost their source of financial support become economically self sufficient though education and positive career choices.
This program begins in the spring quarter of 2007 at Olympic College. The program provides classes and support to identify career or college options to transition towards independence. It is free for those who qualify and college credit is awarded for completion of the program.
Classes included in the program are:
- Strategies for Academic Success (2 college credits)
- Psychology of Self Esteem (1 college credit)
- Career Planning and Life Exploration (1 college credit)
- Orientation to College (1 college credit)
- An optional support group
