Academic Advising
The counselors at Olympic College are committed to assisting students to get where they want to go. From "new student" to "graduate", we can help you be sure that the path you are on will lead you in the direction you wish to go.
The counselors go to a drop-in basis during heaviest advising times, so that students can just come up to the third floor and expect to see a counselor within a half hour at most.
In general, you should be seeing your faculty advisor if you know what field you want to go into and particularly if that field is a professional-technical program. If you are brand new, you should go through the orientation and advising program held in the Student Entry and Advising Center each quarter. After the first quarter, you should see a counselor if you are undecided as to a major or if you are pursuing a general AAS degree. Counselors also can help you plan for transferring to a university within or outside of the state of Washington.
