Sophomore Class Will Be Tough to Replace
Southwestern Oregon proved to be the nemesis for the Olympic College softball team. The Lakers from Coos Bay, Ore., beat the Rangers twice during the regular season and they knocked Olympic into the loser's bracket of the 16-team NWAACC tournament during the first round on Friday. On Sunday, SW Oregon ended OC's tourney-run with a 4-0 victory at Delta Park in Portland, Ore. (more>>)

Rangers Softball Take Three From Skagit
Olympic College's fastpitch team pulled off a rare regular-season feat Thursday by winning three games in the same day. The Rangers beat Skagit Valley three times. games lasted five innings. (more>>)

Quint Nothing But Perfect in Sweep
Erika Quint tossed a couple no-hitters last season. Her first of the 2009 campaign was better than just a no-hitter. Quint threw a perfect game Tuesday as Olympic swept winless Edmonds in an NWAACC North Division doubleheader. Quint struck out 10 in a five-inning, 9-0 win in the first game. She picked up the win relief in the nightcap, a 4-2 win. (more>>

OC Rangers Ride the Mighty Right Arm of CK's Erika Quint
Last softball season the Olympic College Rangers rode the wonderful arm of Erika Quint all the way to third place in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges tournament. It was a surprising drive by a program that has seen plenty of lean times. But it was no surprise to coach Jessica Cabato, like Quint a pitcher out of Central Kitsap, who then went on to play at Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla. for two years. (more>>)

Rangers Looking for More Softball Success
You can bet whatever you have left in your 401k that the Olympic College softball team will not sneak up on anybody this year. Not after what they did last season, winning 31 games and finishing third at the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges Tournament tournament. So when the Rangers open the 2009 season today and Sunday at Vancouver against defending NWAACC champion Lower Columbia and runner-up Mount Hood, it will be with the expectation they won't be taken for grant, as has been the case for much of the last 26 years since OC finished third in 1983.
