Randy Lund is in his fifth year coaching soccer at Olympic College. In 2010 and 2011 he served as an Assistant Coach for the men’s team and helped them reach the NWAACC championship final match. He was named Head Coach of both the men’s and women’s soccer programs in January of 2012.

Coach Lund is also currently Bremerton High School’s boys’ varsity coach and has been there since 2008. The Knights have made the playoffs for 6 straight years with back-to-back Olympic League Championships in 2010 and 2011. Their playoff appearance in 2009 was the first at BHS since 1991. In the past 30 years, Lund has had coaching stints at Highline Premier FC, Crossfire Premier Soccer Club, WestSound FC, Juanita High School, Bellevue Community College, and the Kitsap Pumas PDL team. Most recently, he was voted Olympic League Coach of the Year and All-Kitsap County Coach of the Year in 2010.

His coaching education consists of earning a USSF B license, NSCAA Advanced National diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaching diploma, and NSCAA Goalkeeper diplomas. His formal higher education includes both a Bachelors in Finance and Masters in Economics. He is an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Olympic College and Vincennes University.

Lund’s playing days started with the WSYSA Lake Washington Royals. He graduated from Juanita High School in 1977, and went on to play at Bellevue College in 1978-79. He was an NWAACC first-team all-league selection both years he played at Bellevue College before moving on to attend the University of Washington. After his college days, he was a team member of the Bellevue FC and Eastside FC of the GSSL Premier League.

His coaching philosophy centers around respect, character, teamwork, and personal responsibility, as well as teaching the physical, psychological, technical, and tactical skills associated with soccer. He has had years of success in player development. Many of his players have moved on to compete at the NAIA, NCAA Division III, Division II and Division I levels. Including St. Martin’s University, Western Washington University, Montana State University-Billings, Seattle University, Pacific University, Concordia University, Central Washington University, University of Puget Sound, Pacific Lutheran University, Virginia Tech, University of Washington, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Chaminade University, Hawaii Pacific University, and Oregon State University.

He is married to Shannon Lund and has two daughters, Isabela and Gabrielle. The Lund’s reside in Silverdale, WA.


Assistant Coach - Keith Sargent

Keith Sargent has been named the assistant coach for the men’s soccer team. Coach Sargent is currently the head coach for the newly formed team Westsound FC B96. Coach Sargent took the Westsound FC B98’s as a newly formed team in Division 4 to the top of Division 2, in 1.5 years. Coach Sargent continued to take the team to the top competitive flight by winning the state cup (Challenge Cup Division 1) and into the quarter finals of President Cup Regionals in Boise Idaho 2013.

Sargent attended Olympic College for three years after graduating from high school. Sargent transferred to Western Washington University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry.

Sargent has a USSF National B license since 2011. Coach Sargent has committed to coaching competitive level soccer in this area since 2007 with coaching stints at Olympic College, Olympic High School, Tracyton SC, and Westsound Academy. Sargent has 35 years playing experience.

Sargent works fulltime as a Bremerton Police Officer. He is married to Tammy Sargent and has three children, Austin, Jake, and Hailey.
