Daryl Schruhl begins his third year with the men's and women's Cross Country program for Olympic College. Formerly an assistant cross country coach at Olympic High School from 2002-2010, Schruhl was a driving force behind OC re-starting the men's cross country program and adding the women's cross country program. Graduating from East High School in 1971, he also served as the old East High School head coach in 1978. Schruhl, 57, is also a former runner and alumni of the men's cross country program that once existed at Olympic College before becoming extinct in the mid-1970's.

In addition to his cross country coaching duties at Olympic High School, Schruhl also coached track and field for the Trojans. He still helps the Olympic High School track and field program out as an assistant coach. Coach Schruhl is very excited about the start of the season.
