History

Mar. 2008 - With a season average of 17.3 points per game, sophomore Megan Gilbert was named 1st Team NWAACC North Division. Freshman teammate Coty Ettl received 2nd Team NWAACC North Division honors. Ettle averaged 18.5 points  per game but missed the last four games of the season with a knee injury.

Feb, 23, 2008 - In a 81-to-54 loss at Skagit Valley, Megan Gilbert scored 24 points and Whitney Pearson had 10 rebounds in their final OC Women's Basketball game. Freshman Dorothy Wood lead the Lady Rangers with 8 assists.

Feb. 20, 2008 - In their final home game as a Lady Rangers, sophomores Ariel McDermott, Megan Gilbert, and Laraa Brown played well. McDermott led the team with 20 points, on the strength of 4 of 11 three-point shooting. Gilbert recorded 15 points, 8 rebound, and 5 steals. Laraa Brown contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds. North Seattle - 81, Olympic - 57.

Feb. 16, 2008 - Despite committing 17 turnovers in the first half, the Lady Rangers trailer third-place Bellevue 28-to-27 at half time. But the visiting Bulldogs proved too powerful in the second half and OC lost its fifth consecutive game, 73-to-59. Megan Gilber lead Olympic College with points, while Laraa Brownn (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Patricia Lewis (10 points, 11 rebounds) both had double-doubles.

Feb. 13, 2008 - Trailing 39-to-40, with 10:31 remaining in the second half, Olympic College's fate turned when scorer Ariel McDermott fouled out and guard Dorothy Wood turned her ankle. With only four players the Lady Rangers stayed in the game but could not beat Shoreline, losing 61-to-48.

Feb. 9, 2008 - Limited to just two three-point baskets in the entire game, the Lady Rangers did not have enough firepower to defeat the Peninsula Pirates in Port Angeles. The 68-to-53 loss dropped OC to (8 - 14 overall, 5-7 league). Ariel McDermott lead the team with 19 points. Patricia Lewis had another double-double, with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Feb. 6, 2008 - Four of five Olympic College starters scored in double figures but it was not enough for the Lady Rangers to defeat the 1st place Everett Trojans (78-to-59).

Feb. 2, 2008 - Megan Gilbert scored 25, Ariel McDermott 17, and Patricia Lewis 11 points, but the OC Rangers were unable to defeat the visiting Whatcom Orcas (70-to-59) without teammate Coty Ettl, who was sidelined with a knee injury.

Jan. 30, 2008 - An impressive 82-to-40 win over the Edmonds Tritons, in Edmond, Wash., keeps the Lady Rangers in the hunt for a post-season playoff at the mid-way juncture of the 2007-08 NWAACC North Division season. Patricia Lewis and Megan Gilbert both scored 20 points to give OC their third consecutive win over Edmonds, eighth win of the season, but only third win on the road.

Jan. 26, 2008 - The Lady Rangers put all the pieces together and knocked-off 2nd place Skagit Valley with a 85-to-74 victory at home. Sophomore Ariel McDermott lead Olympic College with a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman Coty Ettl added 21 points and sophomore Megan Gilbert recorded 19 key points.

Jan. 23, 2008 - A road trip to Seattle, Wash., for the OC Women's Basketball team results in a 78-to-56 loss to the North Seattle Storm. Sophomore Megan Gilbert leads the Lady Rangers with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists. Ariel McDermott adds 11 points and Patricia Lewis pulls down 10 rebounds (7 offensive, 3 defensive).

Jan. 19, 2008 - The Lady Rangers travel to Bellevue, Wash., and lose to the Bulldogs 68-to-39, their lowest scoring output of the season. Sophomore Patricia Lewis leads the team with 10 points, the only player to score in double figures.

Jan. 16, 2008 - Olympic College wins their second in a row as they defeat the Shoreline Dolphins on the road 71-to-64.  Megan Gilbert scored 22 points and Patricia Lewis had 19 rebounds.

Jan. 12, 2008 - Megan Gilbert lead OC to victory with 24 points.  The Lady Rangers defeated Peninsula at home 75-to-64.  Patricia Lewis recorded another double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds.  Gilbert and Coty Ettl were sharp shooters from behind the arc.  Gilbert was 4 of 5 on 3-pointers, and Ettl was 6 of 11.  Ariel McDermott added 9 assists in the win.

Jan. 9, 2008 - OC loses at home to Everett 97-to-83.  Megan Gilbert scored a team-high 28 points.  Coty Ettl chipped in with 22 points and Patricia Lewis earned another double-double (16 points, 15 rebounds).

Jan. 5, 2008 - The Lady Rangers go on the road and lose to Whatcom 96-to-83.

Jan. 2, 2008 - Olympic College opened league play with a victory over the visiting Edmonds Tritons 77-to-49.  Coty Ettl lead the Lady Rangers with 33 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.  Patricia Lewis also added 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Dec. 22, 2007 - The Lady Rangers ended the pre-season with a easy 72-to-37 win over the visiting Pierce Raiders. Coty Ettl lead the team with a game high 24 points. Dorothy Wood followed with 16 points and Megan Gilbert score 10 points.

Dec. 19. 2007 - Megan Gilbert leads the Lady Rangers with 21 points, followed by Ariel McDermott with 15 points, and Patricia Lewis is 12 points, but OC loses 100-to-67 at Lane Community College. Lewis has her fifth double-double of the season, 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Dec. 18, 2007 - Lady Rangers travel to Chemeketa and lose to the Storm 80-to-70.

Dec. 10, 2007 - All of the pieces, offense and defense, came together for the Lady Rangers to produce a 101-to-53 victory in the Bremer Student Center over the Grays Harbor Chokers. Sophomore Megan Gilbert had a game high 31 points, complimented by 7 assists. Ariel McDermott had her second consecutive game of 8 assists. Freshman Coty Ettl added 25 points to the team total.

Dec. 5, 2007 - Sophomore rebounder Patricia Lewis pulls down 20 rebounds and scores a game high 20-points in a Ranger 66-to-59 loss to the Green River Gators in Auburn, Wash.
Nov. 28, 2007 - Coach Felker gets his first college win with a 81-to-75 victory by the Rangers at Pierce College. Sophomore point guard Ariel McDermott dishes out a career high 8 assist, which in turn gives sophomore Megan Gilbert and freshman Coty Ettl the opportunity to score a game high 22-points each.

Nov. 24, 2007 - Lady Rangers travel to Olympia, Wash., and outscore the South Puget Sound Clippers 46-to-44 in the second half. But the victory, 77-to-74, goes to Clippers. OC freshman Coty Ettl leads the Rangers with 23 point. Sophomore Megan Gilbert adds 22 points. Freshman guard Dorothy Wood earns her first college double-double, with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Nov. 20, 2007 - Rangers play their first home game of the 2007-08 season, a 72-to-54 loss to the Green River Gators. Freshman Coty Ettl has her second twenty point college game, scoring 21 points. Patricia Lewis earns her second double-double of the season, with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Coach Felker is 0-1 in season home openers.

Nov. 17, 2007 - Olympic College exits the Shoreline Tournament on the second day following a 90-to-64 loss to the Linn-Benton Roadrunners. Megan Gilber (18), Coty Ettl (17), and Ariel McDermott (14) each score in double digits for the Rangers.

Nov. 16, 2007 - Rangers open the 2007-08 season at the Shoreline Tournament (Shoreline, Wash.) against the Lane Titans. OC freshman Coty Ettl leads all players with 28 points. Sophomore transfer Patricia Lewis earns her first double-double of the season, with 13 points & 11 rebounds. First year coach Paul Felker is 0-1 in season openers, as the Rangers lose 72-to-105.

June 2007 - OC alumni and Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Paul Felker hired as new Head Women's Basketball Coach.

May 2007 - Head Coach Leslie Weaver resigns, accepts a Graduate Assistant position at NCAA Div. III Defiance College (Defiance, Ohio) to pursue masters degree in Masters of Education, Sport Science Track.

March 2007 - Sophomore Dominique Simmons named to NWAACC Women's Basketball All-Academics team with a 3.25 GPA.

Feb 7, 2007 - Lady Rangers establish a new scoring benchmark under Coach Weaver with 74 points in a overtime loss at Whatcom (75-to-74).

Jul 2006 - Leslie Weaver hired as new head Women's Basketball coach. An Indiana native, Weaver was the assistant girls coach at Northwestern High School in Springfield, Ohio, the past two years. A point guard, Weaver played three years at NCAA Division I Wright State in Dayton, Ohio, and finished her career at NAIA Cedarville, Ohio.
