Former OC men's basketball coach Barry Janusch is returning to the helm of the Ranger program for the 2010-2011 season. He is currently the Director of the Bremer Student Center and Director of Athletics. Janusch's first go round with the Rangers basketball program was a successful one. His overall coaching record at Olympic from 1992-2001 was 141-111 for a .559 winning percentage. Janusch led the Rangers to a North Division title in 1995 and to NWAACC finishes of 5th and 6th place in 2000 and 1995.
Janusch coached at Idaho State University for seven years (1985-1991) prior to coming to Olympic College. He received his Masters degree from Idaho State University. From Spokane originally, Janusch graduated from West Valley High School in 1977. He went on to play at Clark College in Vancouver, Wash. before transfering to Western Oregon where he obtained his Bachelor's degree. After graduating from Western Oregon, Janusch played professionally in Australia for one year.
Since taking over as the Athletics Director in 2000, Janusch has added six new athletic programs to the fold. Men's and women's soccer and men's and women's golf were added in 2004, and men's and women's cross country will begin competing in the fall of 2010. Janusch is the NWAACC Commissioner for Golf and has served on the NWAACC executive board. He was recognized by his peers as the NWAACC Athletics Director of the Year in 2004.
Barry is married to Arlene and has three children. His daughter Lani is a student at the University of Washington, sons Max and Eli are both attending Central Kitsap Junior High.

Associate Head Coach - Julius "J.J." Johnson

Julius will enter his 5th year with the men's basketball program. This is also his second stint with the Rangers. He helped head coach Barry Janusch for the 1999 and 2000 campaigns. A 1988 graduate of McKenzie High School in Detroit, Michigan, Julius came back to help the Rangers for the 2008-2009 season.
Coach Johnson helps with overseeing academics and leads the study halls for the team. He also works with players on strength and conditioning as well as nutritional guidance. J.J. graduated from PLU in 2004 with a degree in Anthropology & Sociology. He played Pro-Am basketball in San Francisco and Oakland, Calif.
He currently works in the Fitness Center on campus as a recreation supervisor. J.J. has four children, Juwan, Julisha, Jumier, and Josiah. He currently resides in Bremerton, Wash.
