(May 2012 - Great Northwest Athletic Conference) Folkinga GNAC Player of Year Former OC Baseball player Bo Folkinga was named as the GNAC Co-Player of the Year at Western Oregon recently. Folkinga led the conference in home runs and RBI. (more>>)

Three sophomores - Allen Hewey, Kyle Doucette, and Kyle McKay - received NWAACC North Division all-league recognition for their efforts this spring. Hewey and Doucette garnered honors for the second straight year. ( more>>) (5/2012 - OC Athletic Dept.) Three Academic Award Winners Three sophomore baseball players have earned NWAACC All-Academic Awards for their work in the classroom. Brennan Mayfield, Kyle Doucette, and Nick Bowman were the recipients.
(Sun., 5/13/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Rangers Win Last Series of Season Sophomore pitchers Kyle McKay and Chris Hackworth threw gems to help OC sweep the last home doubleheader of the season on Sunday. Olympic won 2-1 in 12 innings behind Josh Kreifels walk-off single; they held onto an early 3-1 lead to win the nightcap. (more>>)
(Sat., 5/12/2012 - OC Athletic Dept.) Hewey Wins Third Straight Allen Hewey won his third straight start on the mound for the Rangers in a 3-1 game one victory. His ERA is now at 1.65 after throwing his sixth complete game of the year. Olympic lost 8-2 in game two. Hewey helped himself with the bat, going 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Kyle Doucette was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and RBI, and Ryan Taylor was 2-for-3 in the game two loss.
(Fri., 5/4/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Hewey Wins Second Straight, OC Splits Allen Hewey has now won two straight pitching decisions for OC Baseball. The tough-luck sophomore pitcher is 3-4 on the year, but has a 1.70 ERA. Ryan Taylor smacked a solo homerun in a 3-2 win at Edmonds in game one. The Rangers were blown out in game two, losing 12-5.(more>>)
(Sun., 4/29/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Smith Saves Rangers Win in Nightcap Devin Smith nailed down the save with two striaght strikeouts to end game two on Sunday. Olympic held on for the 4-3 win, but lost the first game 2-0. Kyle McKay was the tough luck loser in game one. Allen Hewey had two hits and scored two runs in the win. (more>>)
(Sat., 4/28/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Come Back Walk-Off Earns OC Split OC used a three-run bottom of the seventh inning to come-from-behind in a 4-3 game one win against Shoreline. The Rangers lost the second game 6-1. Jace Feldmeier had a key pinch-hit triple to tie the game in the opener. (more>>)
(Mon., 4/23/2012 - Western Oregon Univ. Athletics) Alum Folkinga Named Regional POW Former Ranger first baseman Bo Folkinga has continued his dominance at Division II Western Oregon. He was just recently named as the West Region Player of the Week, and collected his third GNAC Offensive Player of the Week award. He leads the GNAC in home runs and RBI. (more>>)
(Sun., 4/15/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Struggles Continue, Losses Mount Baseball lost both games at home on Sunday dropping their league record to 1-11 overall. The Rangers have struggled since league played started; they finished the the preseason 9-7. OC has a bye week to regroup next weekend before hosting Shoreline at the Kitsap Fairgrounds on April 28. (Sat., 4/14/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Everett Takes First Two at Home Northern Division leader Everett stayed unbeaten in league play as they swept the Rangers at Everett Memorial Stadium on Saturday 2-0 and 8-0. (more>>)
(Sat., 4/7/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) OC Gets First League Win Olympic was able to salvage a win in the last game of the Skagit series behind Devin Smith's seven-plus no-hit innings. OC lost 11-2 and won 5-0 at the Kitsap Fairgrounds. (more>>)
(Fri., 4/6/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Skagit Not Kind to Rangers Baseball played two more tight ones, including an 11-inning affair in the nightcap, but was unable to come up with a North Division league win. The Rangers lost 4-2 and 7-6 at Skagit's Dream Field. OC blew a 5-2 lead in game two. (more>>)

(Mon., 4/2/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Sunday Pattern Repeats Itself Monday seemed like a repeat of Saturday for the Rangers. They played Bellevue tough in a 1-0 loss in game one, and were stymied in a 12-0 loss in the nightcap. Kyle McKay's solid pitching performance in the first game went for naught. (Sun., 4/1/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) No. 1 Bellevue Takes First Two Allen Hewey's solo home run in the second inning didn't hold up, as nationally top-rated pitcher Adrian Sampson and No. 1 ranked Bellevue beat OC 2-1 in game one. The Rangers gave the Bulldogs too many extra bases in a 10-4 loss in the nightcap. Hewey was the tough luck loser on the mound in the first game; he went 4-for-8 at the plate in the doubleheader. (Sun., 3/15/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Yoshinaga's Walk-Off Earns OC Split OC lost game one to Wenatchee 6-4, but Collin Yoshinaga came through with a two-out walk-off single to score pinch-runner Josh DeVaughn in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Rangers an 8-7 victory in game two, and a split on the day. Oliver Nelson was 4-for-4 in the nightcap. (more>>)
(Sat., 3/14/2012 - OC Athletic Dept.) McKay Hitless in Ranger Win Sophomore Kyle McKay pitched six no-hit innings and got the win over Concordia University JV on Saturday - OC won 10-2. (Wed., 3/21/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Shutout Number Five, DH Sweep The Rangers continue to get strong pitching performances in the non-league portion of their schedule. (Sat., 3/17/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) Rangers One Pitch Short of Sweep OC beat Tacoma 10-0 in six innings to win game one of a doubleheader in Lacey behind Allen Hewey's complete game shutout. The loss was the first of the year for Tacoma. The Rangers battled back from down 4-1 to take a 5-4 lead into the top of the seventh inning, but gave up a 2-out 2-strike 2-run basehit, losing to the Titans 6-5 in game two. Jordan Halstead and Kyle Doucette each had three hits on the day. (more>>)
(Sat., 3/10/2012 - Kitsap Sun Sports) OC Sweeps Okanagan Olympic improved to 4-4 on the young season with a sweep of Okanagan College in Lacey. Trevor Collins pitched a complete game shutout in a 14-0 game one win. The Rangers held on for a 5-4 victory in the nightcap. (more>>)
(Mon., 3/5/2012 - OC Athletic Dept.) Pitching Shines in Split vs Blue Mt. Both Kyle's - McKay and Colletti - pitched complete games for OC on Sunday, but only McKay was able to get a win. The Rangers and Blue Mountain split the doubleheader in two identical 1-0 pitching duels. Kurtis Longver had the lone RBI in game one; Kyle Doucette was 2-for-4 in game two. (more>>)

Athletics) Hewey Signs With Campbellsville Sophomore Allen Hewey has signed a national letter of intent to play at Campbellsville University in Kentucky next year. The Tigers are the defending Mid-South Conference champions and are ranked #27 overall in the NAIA pre-season poll. (more>>)
