Why Meet with University Representatives?

The visiting colleges and universities will have information on admissions, academic programs, financial aid and scholarships as well as provide you with the opportunity to explore Bachelor degree options from various colleges and universities who periodically visit the Olympic College campus.  

Some Questions to Ask a University Representative:

  • What is the minimum GPA required to transfer?
  • Who should I contact for transfer information at your school?
  • When are your information meetings?
  • Are tours available at your campus?
  • Do you have materials about prerequisites for general admissions or for my particular major?
  • When should I apply to the university and is there a different deadline to apply to the "College" of my intended major?
    • When you apply to a university, you will be applying to the University, as well as the "College" of your intended major.  For example, if you want to major in Engineering, you would apply to the University as well as the University's College of Engineering.  If you are accepted by the University, you should not assume you would automatically be accepted by the college of your intended major.
  • If the admissions selection is competitive?
    • Some colleges receive more qualified applicants than they have openings so you may want to check to see if there are any particular qualifications that the university or college is seeking that would give you an "edge" in the admissions process.
