Financial Aid 101 & Checklist
Financial Aid 101 is offered primarily at High School Nights to students and parents inquiring about the Financial Aid process. The presenter discusses doing the FAFSA, types of aid available, how to apply, and the timeframes within the year to time your application and entrance into college. Please contact the Financial Aid Office to arrange this presentation at your high school.
Financial Aid Eligibility & Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
This presentation discusses the variants to student aid eligibility. The presenter discusses citizenship requirements, secondary education requirements, eligible Olympic College programs and certificates, and also discusses the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements. This presentation is offered upon request.
Financial Literacy: Money Matters!
Offered once per quarter at all three campuses, this presentation discusses Financial Literacy components. The presenter discusses ways to help a student identify and analyze needs versus wants, monthly budgeting, establishing money goals and saving for them, and also managing personal bank accounts while in college. The presentation is primarily geared toward new students who need guidance on money matters.
Higher One: Olympic Advantage Card
As requested, this presentation discusses the ins and outs of using the Higher One Olympic Advantage card. The presenter discusses the three choices available in using the card, tips for usage, and ways to avoid unnecessary fees. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you wish to have this information presented in your classroom or event.
Strategies for Success in Financial Aid
This presentation covers a few essential behaviors geared towards a successful quarter. The presenter also discusses three case studies with varying Financial Aid resources. These case studies are used to show how to avoid barriers to financial aid access. The Strategies for Success in Financial Aid is available upon request only.
What to Know Before You Borrow: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!
Borrowing student loans is a serious investment and commitment to your education. What to Know Before You Borrow is a half-hour presentation geared toward the benefits and flexibility of borrowing, while also covering the consequences for repayment neglect. As a student loan borrower, you have rights and options, come to the presentation to find out what they are!
