2007 DISASTER TUITION WAIVER PROGRAM
Introduction
The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges approved partial tuition waivers for students of counties most affected by the December 3, 2007 storm. The waiver is effective for Winter and Spring Quarters 2008. Residents of Kitsap, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor, Pacific, and Thurston countries who have suffered economic loss as a result of the December 3, 2007 storm are eligible for this partial tuition waiver. Students who currently attend and those who plan to attend Olympic College, Centralia College, Grays Harbor College, and South Puget Sound Community College who are residents of the affected counties are eligible for this waiver.
Eligibility
Only residents of Kitsap, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor, Pacific, and Thurston counties who are current students of Olympic College or plan to attend Olympic College in the Winter and Spring 2008 Quarter are eligible for the partial tuition waiver. Students or prospective students must demonstrate that they have experienced economic loss. This loss can be in the form of loss in income, transportation, personal property etc.
Application Process
To apply, students must complete the 2007 DISASTER PARTIAL TUITION WAIVER APPLICATION FORM. This application must be accompanied with supporting documentation to prove economic loss due to the storm disaster of December 3. Supporting documentation may include the following:
· FEMA Application
· Red Cross or other charitable organization application for assistance
· Insurance Claim for home or automobile
· Proof of change in employment status

Deadline for 2008 Spring Quarter applicants is March 21, 2008. Personal interviews will be conducted for all applicants from March 24 to March 28, 2008. It is recommended that applicants schedule an appointment at the time they turn in their application.
