Advising Requirements

New student advising requirement

Attend a new student advising session.

Continuing and former students advising requirement

Advising requirements are based on credits earned at Olympic College and type of student. Find your total OC credits.
Fewer than 15 credits:
  • Meet with an advisor prior to registering. 
  • Get your registration PIN during your appointment. (Not required if registering for only one class. Note: If you have seen your advisor but did not get your PIN, call the registration office.

15 or more credits: 

  • Advising is not required, but encouraged. 
  • Use your global PIN (usually your birthdate) to register. (Former students contact registration to have a PIN assigned.)

Exception: All Running Start and International students: advising is required every quarter. 

Registering for Only One Class (7 credits or less)

Advising is not required. Contact Registration for details.
